Larry M. Hyman is Professor of Linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley, and specializes in phonology, typology, and African linguistics. Simon T. Nsielanga is a Jesuit Vice-Directeur of Loyola Hope Center in Lome, Togo, and a researcher in pre-colonial and colonial political African history.
