BeschreibungThe five-volume Schiller Dictionary for the first time presents a lexicographical inventory of the poet's complete vocabulary and provides linguistic access to it. Using electronic text corpora, a team at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena has lemmatized the complete vocabulary in all of Schiller's works for this dictionary. The dictionary provides the following comprehensive information on approx. 32,000 words: the word form and spelling the meanings in the context of the works (with an English paraphrase of the specific meanings) selected representative illustrations for each meaning from the works references to special vocabulary and neologisms entries in other German dictionaries (including Grimm and Adelung) In addition to the facilities offered by the book version, a CD-ROM provides additional linguistic information: additional instances for a word-form or a meaning in Schiller's work a differentiated determination and listing of all the actual inflected forms of a word a precise determination of the syntactic functions of a word information on morphology (derivation and composition) with reference to related words in Schiller's vocabulary. The CD-ROM not only provides full access to these data, but in addition to the full text search facility also allows a differentiated linguistic analysis of Schiller's vocabulary, enabling the execution of such search commands as "Find all the verbs in the semantic field 'sich ärgern' (get annoyed)", "Find all dialect words", "Find all nominal compounds in the poems" or "Find all of Schiller's neologisms".
