PortraitW. Frederick Zimmerman is a writer and consultant living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has over 10 years of experience leading multi-functional teams to develop software systems to make professionals more productive. Most recently, he directed emerging technology strategy for LexisNexis, a division of Reed Elsevier plc, where he designed an innovative industry-leading product intended to help law students brief cases, take notes, and prepare for exams. Previously, he built information services for the Socioeconomic Data Application Center for NASA's Mission to Planet Earth while working for the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan and the Consortium for International Earth Science Information Network (http://www.ciesiin.org). Zimmerman is the author of End-To-End Product Development For Windows XP Tablet PC Edition (Apress, forthcoming) and he contributed a chapter on Microsoft OneNote to the Microsoft Press book, Understanding Office 11. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Wayne State University Law School.
