Many modern day musicians understand how to play their instruments or make music on the computer, but lack the basic knowledge of music theory necessary to take their music theory to the next level. Music Theory for Computer Musicians teaches DJs, gigging musicians, and electronic music producers the music theory concepts they need to become complete musicians. Concepts are taught using the MIDI keyboard environment and todays computer composing and recording software, such as Pro Tools, Reason, and Ableton Live. Based on a college course created by the author, the book provides a user-friendly explanation of music theory for those with no prior knowledge, with examples and plenty of illustrations. The companion CD includes audio examples to help illustrate the concepts learned.
