PortraitGareth Guest has been involved with the development of cyclotron heating of plasmas since the very inception of this method. He also actively shaped the development of experience outside of nuclear fusion, e.g. of experiments in space and of commercial applications. He headed groups at the Oak Ridge Natl. Lab, as well as at the companies "General Atomic" and "Applied Microwave Plasma Concepts, Inc.". His experience with both academic and corporate research makes him ideally suited to write this work.
